The San Jose Sharks have announced a new alternate jersey for the upcoming 2025-26 season as well as some additional theme nights.
Based off of the Sharks’ second generation of jerseys, the Heritage 2.0 jersey calls back to the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The Sharks will wear the jerseys four times, on specific alumni nights.
The first alumni night will take place on October 30 against the New Jersey Devils when the Sharks honor Jeff Friesen, Kyle McLaren, and Mark Smith. Then, on November 20, the Sharks will celebrate Joe Thornton’s election to the Hockey Hall of Fame against their rival, the Los Angeles Kings.
A couple of weeks later, on December 3, the Sharks will honor the careers of Patrick Marleau, Evgeni Nabokov, and Mike Ricci against the Washington Capitals. The final alumni night will be on March 1, when the Sharks host the Winnipeg Jets and honor Scott Hannan, Owen Nolan, and Scott Thornton.
Heading into their 35th season, the Sharks decided to honor the past in multiple ways. Many organizational legends have worn the teal and gray jerseys in the past, and now the next generation of Sharks stars will do the same. Jerseys will be available at the Sharks Pro Shop starting tonight, as they play the Vegas Golden Knights.
