San Jose Sharks prospect Brandon Svoboda helped Macklin Celebrini win his bet against Will Smith as No. 9 Boston University upset No. 1 Boston College 4-1 in the Beanpot final.

After BC took a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period, 2023 third-round pick Brandon Svoboda tied it up with his fifth goal of the season.

Svoboda has been a fourth-line center for the BU Terriers all season and has done well in this role. In 21 games, the forward has five goals and one assist. He also won gold with Team USA at the 2025 World Juniors.

Sharks rookies Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith were in attendance to cheer on their old schools and once again had a bet on the winner of the game. This time, Celebrini got the last laugh.

Celebrini was heavily involved with the game as he hyped the stands up of what the Terriers call the "dog pound" and helped Montreal Canadiens defenseman and former BU teammate Lane Hutson read the starting lineup in the locker room.

Hutson and Celebrini did not experience a Beanpot victory as BU fell to Northeastern in the final last season. That didn't stop the two from being on the bench during the postgame festivities.

Neither Smith nor Celebrini revealed what happens to the loser of the bet, but the two will undoubtedly have something planned during the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
