San Jose Sharks' top prospects, Yaroslav Askarov and Collin Graf, were named AHL Players of the Month for October.

Graf was named the AHL's Rookie of the Month and Askarov the Goaltender of the Month.

Graf leads all rookie skaters in points with ten (3 goals, 7 assists). The winger has quickly become a top contributor for the San Jose Barracuda, and Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky is noticing.

"Really good start," Warsofsky said. "Even in the games that I've watched, he's a difference maker. [He is] skating. He's playing with pace. He's good."

Askarov has been the best goaltender in the AHL to start his Sharks career. In five starts, his record is 5-0, with his 1.20 GAA and .959 save %.

"Askarov has been really dialed in. The one game I went to here, you could just tell he was really focused and made himself look bigger in the net," Warsofsky said.

The netminder has two shutouts, his first two starts of the season, and he even got an assist against the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Oct. 30.

San Jose seems to be in good hands with Graf and Askarov. The Barracuda are off to a sparkling start to the 24-25 season and carry one of the best records in the league at 6-1.
