The San Jose Sharks have announced the signings of Ty Dellanderea and Carl Grundstrom to two-year contracts.
Dellandrea and Grundstrom were acquired via trade. Dellandrea played last season with the Dallas Stars. He is a speedy forward who is responsible in his defensive zone.
As a former first-round pick, he hasn't entirely lived up to the hype but has turned himself into a responsible depth forward. His cap hit is $1.3 million.
The Sharks sent defenseman Kyle Burroughs to the Los Angeles Kings for Grundstrom. Head coach Ryan Warsofsky told reporters at the NHL Draft that he feels there is some untapped potential to be found.
"Carl brings consistent competitiveness to our lineup," Sharks GM Mike Grier said in a statement. "He showed that he is able to contribute not just in the offensive zone, but is also difficult to play against on the defensive end. We're excited to add him to the organization."
Grundstrom's cap hit is slightly higher than Dellandrea's at $1.8 million per season.
