

San Jose Sharks' Will Smith has been named the Sharks' April Player of the Month.
Smith, 20, has been outstanding for his team this season. In 74 games, he recorded 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 points.
In the month of April, he played in nine games and posted five goals and three assists for eight points—including a four-point performance on April 9th against the Minnesota Wild.
Since the season ended, Smith has announced that he will head to the World Championships in Sweden/Denmark from May 9th to 25th. He’ll be joined by his head coach Ryan Warsofsky, who will serve as Team USA’s head coach.
It’s a tournament worth keeping an eye on, with a handful of Sharks expected to play. But more importantly, it’ll be a chance to see how Smith fares in an important role with Team USA.
