The San Jose Sharks have placed defenseman Nikolai Knyzhov on waivers.
The San Jose Sharks have placed defenseman Nikolai Knyzhov on waivers.
Knyzhov has struggled to maintain a lineup spot this season, playing ten games. He has one assist.
Jan Rutta and Alexander Barabanov have been on IR, but both traveled with the Sharks during their current six-game road trip.
The Sharks also placed Luke Kunin on IR, retroactive to Nov. 30.
With Knyzhov on waivers and Kunin on IR, this paves the way for Rutta and Barabanov to return to the Sharks lineup. Sharks head coach David Quinn mentioned the hope was to get them back during this road swing.
The Sharks take on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night.
