The San Jose Sharks look to tie the Edmonton Oilers in the standings tonight.
The San Jose Sharks (1-10-1) host the division rival Edmonton Oilers (2-8-1) on Thursday night.
The Oilers came into the season expected to be Stanley Cup contenders but have struggled out of the gate. It hasn't been without controversy either, as they put goaltender Jack Campbell on waivers and through to the AHL.
Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has been injured to start the year and does not seem 100% despite him playing. McDavid hasn't scored a goal since Oct. 17 and has two on the season.
The Sharks are coming off their first win of the season and will look to build on a good performance. GM Mike Grier acquired defenseman Calen Addison from the Minnesota Wild yesterday.
Addison could make his Sharks debut tonight and will wear No. 33. Based on the morning skate, he projects to play with Mario Ferraro.
"When you get a guy like [Addison], it allows everyone else to play in position," Sharks head coach David Quinn said. "We've got a lot of good powerplay players, but they've been out of position. It's like putting the band together, right? We've been having the piano guy try to play the trombone, and so on and so forth."
