The San Jose Sharks (14-32-4) are on the road to take on the Anaheim Ducks (17-30-2) in their final game before the All-Star break.
San Jose is coming off their first shutout of the season behind Mackenzie Blackwood's 32-save effort.
Tomas Hertl is dealing with a lower-body injury and did not play last night. Although he traveled with the team, head coach David Quinn said the centerman won't play.
Quinn also confirmed that Kyle Burroughs will re-enter the lineup for Ty Emberson, who is dealing with an upper-body injury. Kaapo Kahkonen will start tonight.
"Just play with the same intentions as we did in the third period. I thought we weren't denied offensively. I thought we were much more aggressive offensively with the puck. We didn't give it away as easily as we did in the first two periods," Quinn said about carrying momentum from yesterday to today. "You got to take contact if you're going to create offense, right? When a guy comes near, you can't just get rid of it. You got to earn your ice. You gotta fight through checks. I thought we were much better at that in the third period."
With changes in the lineup, expect the Sharks line combinations to look like this:
Hoffman-Couture-Zetterlund
Barabanov-Eklund-Duclair
MacDonald-Sturm-Kunin
Bailey-Carpenter-Zadina
Mukhamadullin-Rutta
Okhotiuk-Addison
Vlasic-Burroughs
Kahkonen
Blackwood
Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. PST and can be seen on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
