    Mackenzie Blackwood will start his third straight game as the San Jose Sharks (0-5-1) look to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning (3-2-2) on Thursday night.

    Blackwood was stellar in his last game, stopping 33 shots. San Jose will be without forward Alexander Barabanov for an extended period due to a broken finger.

    San Jose announced they have called up Ryan Carpenter for the remainder of the road trip as a corresponding move.

    The Lightning have been without star goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy this season as he underwent back surgery during training camp.

    Per reports, Marc-Edouard Vlasic will be scratched for the second straight game.
