As the 2024 World Juniors approach, San Jose Sharks prospect Jake Furlong has made Canada's roster.
Furlong is the captain of the Halifax Mooseheads and is second on the team in points among defensemen with 20 (1 goal, 19 assists). Only three of his points have come on the powerplay this season.
Furlong is +18, which is first among all defensemen on the roster.
His strong play this season has led him to be selected for Team Canada's 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship roster.
Furlong was rewarded with a strong development and training camp with an entry-level contract.
Furlong will play alongside some of the NHL's best prospects and highest-rated draft-eligible players. Macklin Celebrini made Canada's roster, and with some luck, he and Furlong could be teammates on the Sharks.
