Seattle, WA - On a sunny Saturday, May 10th, Seattle Kraken season ticket holders came together at Climate Pledge Arena for the fourth annual Paint the Ice event —a cherished tradition marking the close of the hockey season.

While the end of the season brought mixed emotions—missing the playoffs, parting with inaugural players Brandon Tanev and Yanni Gourde, and the departure of head coach Dan Bylsma—the mood on the ice was anything but somber. Fans of all ages filled the rink with messages of hope, playful art, and support for the future, including excitement for the new professional women’s hockey league.

Children ran joyfully across the ice, paintbrushes in hand, while families captured memories, laughing and marveling at the rare chance to stand on home ice.

Though the rink will soon be transformed for spring events, the spirit of the day—full of connection, creativity, and Kraken pride—was a vibrant reminder that hockey is about more than wins and losses. It's about community, resilience, and always looking ahead.
