The Tampa Bay Lightning were able to grab a much-needed 6-3 win against the New York Rangers Thursday night as they head into their final playoff push. Tonight, they’ll have another challenge coming their way from the team down South.

After making a Stanley Cup Final appearance last year, the Panthers have had a solid season so far, grabbing the top spot in the league with 94 points. They're just about guaranteed to make it into the postseason.

Panthers head coach Paul Maurice confirmed Saturday morning that Sergei Bobrovsky would be in net against the Bolts. Bobrovsky is having his best season to date since joining the Panthers squad.

The last time these two teams met, it ended with the Panthers rocking the Bolts 9-2. Since then, the Lightning have made positive changes to their top-six, with the addition of Anthony Duclair who spent his own fair share of time playing in Sunrise. The Lightning have also gotten a much needed boost in defenseman Matt Dumba.

There was some good news on the injury-front as Tanner Jeannot was the first player on the ice at morning skate Saturday, giving an indication that he could make a return against the Cats.

Tonight’s game kicks off the last big road trip of the regular season for the Lightning, and they need every point they can get to secure a playoff spot. Soon they’ll head out west to face Vegas, San Jose, LA, and Anaheim. Then Boston comes to town once they return to Tampa. Tonight should be a fun one as the battle of Florida continues. Puck drop is an early one at 6pm.
