Anthony Duclair has the potential to be a big addition to the Lightning.
Before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passed, the Tampa Bay Lightning acquired Anthony Duclair from the San Jose Sharks. While much of the focus leading up to the deadline was on the Lightning needing to add a defenseman (which they did with Matt Dumba), Duclair also has the potential to be a massive addition to Tampa's lineup.
Tampa Bay's roster has some excellent forwards. They are led by Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, Steven Stamkos, and Anthony Cirelli. However, after this group, the firepower of the Lightning's offense rapidly drops off. Duclair has the potential to change that.
When playing at his best, Duclair is a very effective middle-six forward who provides strong offensive production. We have seen that lately from him, as he had eight points over his last four games as a Shark. Now, his goal will be to translate that hot streak over to the Lightning.
Secondary scoring has been an issue for Tampa this campaign, and bringing in Duclair should help remedy this situation. In 56 games this season, the 28-year-old has 16 goals and 27 points.
