The Lightning enter tonight’s game in a good place, coming off a successful weekend of back-to-back road victories. Defeating the New York Islanders 4-2 on Saturday and the New Jersey Devils 4-1 on Sunday was no small task. The Lightning have struggled on the road, but need every point they can get heading into March, which makes this matchup a big one.

These two teams met last on January 23rd, and ended with a 6-3 Tampa Bay win. Since then, it’s been an up and down month of February.

The Lightning have proven time and time again that they have the ability to beat a top 5 team in the league. When they play a good game defensively, they’re a tough team to beat. This roadtrip has been successful so far, coming out of it with two more points would add a boost of confidence.

“We’re not beating ourselves. That’s something we’ve done, especially on that home stand, we beat ourselves,” Jon Cooper said on Sunday. “The guys have made a conscious effort to make sure that’s not happening.”

The Flyers are coming off two losses this weekend, one on Saturday to the New York Rangers and one on Sunday in Pittsburgh. Their power play is improving, but for the season, they rank last in the NHL at 13.2 percent. For contrast, the Lightning rank first at 29.3% and their PK ranks 13th this season at an 80.4 percent success rate. John Tortorella confirmed they will be without Jamie Drysdale and Travis Konecny tonight.

This should be a good one! Puck drop is at 7pm.
