This former Lightning forward took accountability after a shaky performance.
Former Tampa Bay Lightning forward J.T. Miller has had a strong postseason with the Vancouver Canucks thus far. In 10 games, the 31-year-old has two goals, 11 points, and a plus-6 rating. That is certainly the kind of offense that the Lightning could have used more of in their series against the Florida Panthers.
However, Miller has not been perfect this postseason. This was particularly the case in the Canucks' Game 4 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. The star forward was notably on the ice for the Oilers' game-winning goal. He also did not get on the scoresheet.
Miller took accountability for his quiet night by texting Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet to say sorry for his rough game.
While Miller apologized to Tocchet, the Canucks' bench boss sung his forward's praises to reporters: "This guy's been unreal for me. You know? One play or two plays doesn't define him. Who cares about that? That game's over. He's been a monster for us. He'll be a monster for us next game."
This is great exchange between Miller and Tocchet. He took the blame for an off night, and Tocchet made sure to pick him right back up. It's clear that the former Bolt is well-respected by his coach.

It will be intriguing to see how Miller responds to it in Game 5 against the Oilers on Thursday night.
