This former Lightning forward has begun the season on a hot streak.

Many Lightning were upset during the 2023 NHL off-season when forward Ross Colton was traded to the Colorado Avalanche. The young forward was still riding high off the glow of being one of the many heroes during the Lightning's 2021 Stanley Cup run. Colton scored the game-winning goal in Game 5, earning the Bolts the second of their back-to-back Stanley Cup titles.
At the beginning of his time in Colorado, Colton did not see the same level of production that he had during his years in Tampa Bay. However, the New Jersey native has kicked off a torrid pace through the first two weeks of Colorado's season. Colton has tallied six goals and one assist in just six games. The 28-year-old's play has really stood out, with him scoring four goals in his last two games.
Colton will hope to continue his high scoring, as he is currently tied for second in the NHL in goals scored. The Avalanche and its players will hope Colton can continue his high level of play as Colorado from here. Colton and Colorado will square off against the Lightning for the first time this season on October 30th in Tampa Bay.
