Lightning star goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy got some big-time praise from this NHL legend.
New Jersey Devils legend Martin Brodeur is one of the greatest goalies to ever play the sport. This is made apparent by his three Stanley Cup rings, four Vezina Trophy wins, and NHL-record 691 regular-season wins.
The Hockey Hall of Famer recently spoke with NHL.com's Mike Morreale and complimented Tampa Bay Lightning superstar goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy in a big way.
Here is what Brodeur had to say about Vasilevskiy and New York Rangers superstar goalie Igor Shesterkin:
"There's two guys I really like: Andrei Vasilevskiy and Igor Shesterkin. To me, these two guys are the top goalies in the League with the way they play, their attitude; they want to play a lot of games. They don't worry about their workload, they're just hockey players."
Seeing Vasilevskiy get some big-time praise from a legend like Brodeur is not only outstanding but also entirely understandable. Vasilevskiy has had a marvelous career himself, winning two Stanley Cup rings, the Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Vezina Trophy. Thus, he has been one of the NHL's most dominant goalies for a long time, and at age 30, he still has plenty of time to build on his resume even further.
