
During the off-season, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed Jake Guentzel to a seven-year, $63 million contract. So far, it is a move that the Lightning must be incredibly happy about.
Guentzel has had a fantastic start to his tenure with the Bolts, posting 18 goals, 33 points, and a plus-9 rating in 29 games. He is also not showing a single sign of slowing down either.

In the Lightning's latest contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Dec. 17, Guentzel scored a goal and added an assist. With this, he extended his goal streak to seven games, with nine over that span.
This is absolutely wonderful production from Guentzel, and he is helping the Lightning immensely because of it. When the Lightning signed him this past off-season, the expectation was that he would be one of their best offensive performers. So far, he has undoubtedly been that.
It will now be very fascinating to see how Guentzel builds on his marvelous play from here.
