Lightning Place Struggling Forward On Waivers

The Tampa Bay Lightning have placed one of their forwards on waivers

The Tampa Bay Lightning have made a roster move, as forward Alex Barre-Boulet has been placed on waivers.

Heading into the 2023-24 season, many hoped that Barre-Boulet would translate some of his excellent offense in the AHL to the NHL and have a breakout campaign. However, the undrafted forward has struggled this season, and he is on the waiver wire because of it.

Barre-Boulet, 26, has appeared in 36 games this season, where he has six goals, nine points, and a minus-9 rating. He has gone pointless over his last 10 games and has one point in his last 15 contests.

If Barre-Boulet clears waivers, he will once again join the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL. He would undoubtedly be welcomed back with open arms, as he has 283 points in 271 career games with the AHL squad. However, the prospect of him being claimed off waivers should not be ruled out, as teams looking for secondary scoring could take a shot on him.
