The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled forward Scott Sabourin from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old has appeared in three games for the Lightning so far this season. He scored his first goal as a member of the Lightning on November 12 against the New York Rangers and added an assist in the following contest against the Florida Panthers.

Sabourin, who has spent the majority of his time with the Crunch, has scored four goals and added two assists in 17 AHL games this season. He immediately stepped into the fourth line for head coach Jon Cooper alongside Nick Paul and Curtis Douglas. Sabourin and Douglas stepped into the lineup while Jack Finley and Gage Goncalves were scratched after their performances in Toronto. Dominic James was also a scratch.

Since making his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators during the 2019-20 season, Sabourin has consistently bounced between the NHL and the AHL. He’s also spent time with the Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose Sharks organizations in recent years.

Known more for his physicality, Sabourin has registered a total of 76 penalty minutes (PIMS) in 50 NHL games. In the AHL, though, he has 1245 PIMS in just 549 games.
