The Tampa Bay Lightning have made another move, as they have signed forward Jack Finley to a three-year, $2.325 million contract extension ($775,000 AAV). The Lightning also shared that the first year of Finley's new deal will be a two-way contract, and then it will change to a one-way deal for the final two seasons of it.
Finley, 22, was selected by the Lightning with the 57th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he has become one of the Lightning's most promising prospects.
Finley appeared in 40 games this season with the Syracuse Crunch, posting 14 goals, 28 points, and a plus-11 rating. He made his NHL debut with the Lightning on Jan. 14 against the Boston Bruins, where he had one shot and one hit in 8:25 of ice time.
While Finley has yet to become a full-time player for the Lightning, he is well on his way to changing that. The 6-foot-6 forward took a nice step forward this season, and the expectation is that he should fight for a spot in the Lightning's bottom six next season.
Finley has played in 161 AHL games with the Crunch over four seasons, where he has recorded 39 goals, 81 points, 102 penalty minutes, and a plus-12 rating.
