Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Nikita Kucherov has been named the NHL's First Star of the Week from March 24 to March 30.

Seeing Kucherov named the NHL's First Star of the Week is entirely understandable. No. 86 dominated during it, as he had three goals and 11 points in just three contests for the Lightning. This included back-to-back four-point performances against the Utah Hockey Club and then the New York Islanders.

Kucherov has been excellent all season, and this latest accomplishment only proves that further. With his dominant week, the 2011 second-round pick now has 33 goals, 76 assists, and a plus-21 rating in 69 contests this season. In addition, he is also now tied with Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon at the top of the NHL with 109 points.

The Lightning also benefitted from Kucherov's spectacular play, as they won all three of their games during the week. With this, they now have a 43-25-5 record and have jumped up to the second-place spot in the Atlantic Division standings.
