Hockey season is back, as the Tampa Bay Lightning are officially starting their training camp. This is an incredibly exciting time of the year, as it means that the regular season is rapidly approaching.

The Lightning have some roster decisions to make before the start of the season, though. One involves professional tryout (PTO) addition Logan Brown.

Brown, 26, missed the entirety of last season due to injury, so he could never make his debut with the Lightning in 2023-24. However, after being brought back by Tampa Bay with this PTO, he now could get the chance to change that if he impresses at training camp.

When looking at the Lightning's current roster, it is fair to argue that Brown could be a solid addition to their group. It is no secret that the Lightning could use a bit more depth in their bottom six, and Brown would provide them with an intriguing option if officially signed.

Brown is a former first-round pick who has shown he can be a solid depth forward. In 99 career NHL games split between the Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Blues, he has seven goals and 26 points. The 6-foot-7 forward's best season came in 2021-22, when he had four goals and 11 points in 39 games for St. Louis.

Given the fact that Brown is a former first-rounder who is still fairly young, he could be a solid breakout candidate for the Lightning to take a shot on. However, he must perform well at training camp first to get a deal. We must wait and see what happens on that front from here.
