Steven Stamkos faced off against the Tampa Bay Lightning for the first time since signing his four-year, $32 million contract with the Nashville Predators this past summer. It was a day the hockey world had saved on their calendars. 

The Lightning made sure to thank their former captain for all he did for the organization, as they gave him an incredible tribute video. 

Following the tribute video, Stamkos made his appreciation known by doing a lap around the ice and saluting the crowd. In addition, Lightning fans gave him a long-standing ovation in what was a truly powerful moment.
