After Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev was injured last night he shared his thoughts and feelings with and Instagram post.

Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports - 'After Doing Everything Right, I Get This': Mikhail Sergachev Shares Emotional Message With Tampa Bay Lightning Fans After Sustaining Another Injury

The Tampa Bay Lightning lost 3-1 to the New York Rangers last night. They were out shot by the Rangers 24-18. The Lightning did what they could but the Rangers were committed to defending their goalie, as their 22 blocked shots demonstrated.

That defeat pales in comparison to the loss of Mikhail Sergachev to an injury - in the same game that he briefly returned in. Sergachev only played 10:22 before suffering an injury while tangled up with Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere.

Everyone on the ice could tell that something was wrong with the way that Sergachev reached for his leg immediately after the collision.

His ankle went one way while his leg went the other. Not a good sign for the player or the team.

Around 2 AM this morning (Eastern Standard time) Sergachev published this post on Instagram:

It's tough to imagine all of the emotions that Sergachev is going through. He missed 17 games with an injury and sustains a new injury in his first game back.

It's good to see that he was taken care of by medical staff. Judging from videos and images from the game last night it's clear that every single player and coaching staff member (from both teams) were concerned about his well being.

There are things that are bigger than hockey, Sergachev's health is definitely one of them.
