The last time these two teams met, Joseph Woll left the game in the third period after suffering a high-ankle sprain.
The Battle of Ontario continues with the Toronto Maple Leafs taking on the Ottawa Senators for the third time this season.
Both teams have won a game against each other this year, with the winning club scoring four or more goals to end the game. Ottawa beat Toronto 6-3 on Nov. 8 and the Maple Leafs defeated the Senators 4-3 just a month later on Dec. 7.
Toronto is coming off a big 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets before the holiday break. Auston Matthews had three points in that game, including two goals, which has him in the league-lead for goals with 28, four ahead of second place's Brock Boeser.
It will also be one of the Maple Leafs' Next Generation games on Wednesday night.
Ottawa's struggles have built up over the course of this season. They currently stand in the bottom of the Atlantic Division and are tied for third-last in the NHL with 24 points. The Senators are 3-7 in their last 10 games, which includes a six-game losing streak.
The big question for the Maple Leafs heading into their first game after the holiday break is who'll start in net. The team is only one game removed from their massive 9-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres which saw both Ilya Samsonov and Martin Jones give up several goals.
However, Jones started against their last game against Blue Jackets on Saturday, only allowing one goal on 28 shots.
If you're in Canada, the game will broadcast nationally on all the Sportsnet channels. Plus, if you stream the games, it will be available on Sportsnet+. For the United States, you can stream the matchup on ESPN+.
The rest of the world can find the game on NHL Live. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 p.m. ET.
