Conor Timmins Activated From Long-Term Injury Reserve, Calle Jarnkrok to Take Warmups for Maple Leafs Against Blackhawks

Timmins has been out since Sept. 29 after suffering a lower-body injury against the Montreal Canadiens in a preseason game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman has struggled through his first 13 games of the season. Head coach Sheldon Keefe says the player is injured and working through some things.

The Maple Leafs have activated Conor Timmins off of long-term injured reserve ahead of their matinee against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Timmins began skating with the team on Nov. 8 as he continued to recover from his injury. He remained skating with Toronto, even travelling with them to Sweden for the NHL Global Series, where he ramped up his play.

Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said on Thursday that the Maple Leafs were preparing that Timmins would play on Friday afternoon in Chicago. And that's now the case.

Keefe told reporters on Friday morning that Calle Jarnkrok will take warmups for Toronto. Jarnkrok blocked a shot in practice on Wednesday and was sent for imaging on Thursday. The news came back positive, making him a game-time decision for their matinee against the Blackhawks.

Both Alex Steeves and Ryan Reaves will take warmups for the Maple Leafs. Steeves was called up from the Marlies before the team left for Chicago on Thursday afternoon.

The 23-year-old currently has an 11-game point streak in the AHL where he's scored 11 goals in that span. It's expected that if Jarnkrok cannot play, one of Steeves or Reaves will come into the lineup vs. Chicago.
