Holmberg and Marchand got into a scuffle during the third period of Game 5 before the Bruins' forward was taken down by one of the officials.

Several storylines came out of the Maple Leafs' 2-1 overtime win over the Boston Bruins in Game 5.

However, no part of the game received more attention on social media than Pontus Holmberg and Brad Marchand's wrestling match midway through the third period on Tuesday.

"Yeah, I mean, I don't know how much of a wrestling match it was," Jarnkrok said with a grin, before pausing. "It was more, I think the ref got him at the end."

Throughout his career, Marchand has been a player who's been able to draw penalties in almost every way possible. Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe even tipped his hat to the 35-year-old forward early on in the series after Game 3 in Toronto, where Marchand and Tyler Bertuzzi got into it while Trent Frederic skated down the wing and scored.

"He's been in the league long enough as you can see, he gets calls. It's unbelievable, actually," Keefe said after Toronto's 4-2 loss to the Bruins on Apr. 24. "It's an art and he's elite at it."

Marchand, again, was up to his tricks on Tuesday night with Holmberg, trying to get the young forward to take a penalty. But what happened was both he and Holmberg each got roughing penalties.

"Playoff games are emotional games. It happened in the game last night. I'm sure it's gonna happen again," Simon Benoit said on Wednesday. "It's always playoff emotions, it's always fun."

The Maple Leafs went on to win the game in overtime courtesy of a massive goal from Matthew Knies. Even he got involved in post-whistle shenanigans on Tuesday night with Bruins forward David Pastrnak.

"I think he's been good for us," Jarnkrok said of Knies on Wednesday afternoon.

"He works his ass off, great on the forecheck, he's big and strong, can shoot the puck, and obviously got a winner yesterday."
