The family already has two sons, Matthew and Miroslav, and, are shown by Lyubushkin on his Instagram wearing Anaheim Jr. Ducks gear. Toronto acquired the 30-year-old defenseman on Feb. 29 in a three-team trade — his second tenure with the hockey club — from Anaheim in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick.
The Ducks retained 50% of Lyubushkin's salary while the Carolina Hurricanes also took another 50% for a 2024 sixth-round pick. The defenseman was a part of the Maple Leafs' playoff run in 2022 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, appearing in all seven games, before losing the series 4-3.
Lyubushkin, since joining Toronto for the second time, has four assists in 19 regular season games and has one assist in three postseason games while averaging 14:03 of ice time. He's mainly played on Toronto's top defense pairing alongside Morgan Rielly.
The Maple Leafs are down 2-1 in their series against the Bruins. Game 4 is set for Saturday night inside Scotiabank Arena at 8 p.m. ET.
