Woll has been limited to just over 31 minutes of pre-season action over the club's first five pre-season games.

Joseph Woll is scheduled to start the entire 60 minutes on Saturday when the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Detroit Red Wings in their final pre-season tuneup at Scotiabank Arena on Saturday.

Woll, who is expected to compete with Anthony Stolarz for a majority of the Maple Leafs starts in net this season. After ending last season injured and unable to play in the club's Game 7 loss in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Boston Bruins last season, there's been a focus on seeing if the goaltender can remain healthy and is up to the challenge of playing in more than the 25 starts he has made last season.

While Stolarz has logged 129:48 of ice time over three pre-season games, Woll has played in just 31:45.

On Monday, Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube was pressed about Woll's lack of playing time.

"He's going to get more work, so I'm not worried about it right now," he said.

When asked if the medical staff was managing Woll, Berube dismissed the idea.

"It has nothing to do with anything. Don't read into anything like that. It's the plan."

All eyes will be on Woll to see how well he performs in this game. With a decision to make for opening night against the Montreal Canadiens, Stolarz has looked sharp, posting a .964 save percentage in his three appearances.

The Leafs admitted in their end-of-season availability that they had to look into Woll's injury issues to see if they could be corrected. They signed the goaltender to a three-year extension worth $11 million, which kicks in at the beginning of the 2025-26 season.

    Jarnkrok and McCabe remain out

Calle Jarnkrok  (lower-body) and Jake McCabe (upper-body) were held out of morning skate on Saturday as they continue to recover from injuries that the team is calling "day-to-day". Both players were kept off the ice during Thursday's practice.

Jarnkrok, in particular, missed some days at camp before returning for the club's last pre-season game against the Red Wings on Oct. 3.

Berube confirmed it's the same issue keeping him out on Saturday.

Philippe Myers took McCabe's place at practice and will get into the lineup against the Red Wings on Saturday. The Leafs signed Myers signed a one-year, $775,000 contract last summer.
