Toronto Maple Leafs right winger Jack Roslovic was absent from Wednesday's practice for what the team is calling a maintenance day.

After another strong performance from Jack Roslovic on Tuesday in the Toronto Maple Leafs' 3-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth, he appears to be dealing with something.

The right winger did not attend practice on Wednesday, with the team labelling his absence as a maintenance day.

He played 18:19 of ice time against the Mammoth, and scored the Leafs' only two goals of the contest, both assisted by Auston Matthews, and one by Morgan Rielly.

After that outing, Roslovic was expected to speak with the media following his strong performance. However, he was unavailable to speak because he was receiving treatment from the Maple Leafs' staff.

Roslovic's absence from practice already comes with Kirill Marchenko not nearing his return just yet, and John Tavares still out of the lineup, although he did practice with the team on Wednesday in his red non-contact sweater.

With Roslovic out of practice, Vinni Lettieri took reps in his spot on the top line with Matthews and Easton Cowan.

Roslovic will have some time to recover, with Toronto's next game not coming until a back-to-back this weekend against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday and the New Jersey Devils on Sunday.

So far this season, Roslovic has put up the best offensive numbers of any new addition in the NHL from the off-season. He's put up eight goals and 18 points in 17 games, putting him on pace to score 40 goals and 89 points.
