Maple Leafs' Max Domi Showcasing Off-Season Speed Work in Latest Instagram Post From Performance Coach
Domi has gotten up to a lot this summer, including a trip to Italy, working out with Kula Sports Performance, and playing tennis in Toronto.
Max Domi continues his offseason speed work ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Brian Kula, owner of Kula Sports Performance, posted a video to Instagram on Thursday, showcasing the type of workouts Domi is doing to prepare himself for his second season with the Maple Leafs.
"This unit hit 20.9 MPH," the Instagram post read.
The video shows the 29-year-old lifting and pulling weights, doing core work, and sprinting on a treadmill and throughout the gym. This is the second post from Kula this summer highlighting Domi's workout regimen.
Kula's sport performance program has also worked with NFL running back Christian McCaffery, a close friend of the Domi family. Other athletes who've worked with Kula are Canadian Women's international soccer player Janine Beckie, NFL running back Melvin Gordon, and NFL defensive tackle Solomon Thomas.
Domi and Toronto agreed on a four-year, $15 million contract extension on June 30, carrying an annual average value of $3.75 million. The forward, who calls Toronto home, signed a one-year deal last summer and scored nine goals and 38 assists in 80 games.
He also had one goal and three assists in seven games against the Boston Bruins in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
After signing an extension with Toronto, Domi posted a scene from the movie 'The Wolf of Wall Street' where Leonardo DiCaprio's character, Jordan Belfort says, "I'm not f***ing leaving."
The forward's face was edited onto DiCaprio's character, which Domi says was put together by himself and a friend.
"It's tough to throw that video when you're on a new team every year," Domi said after signing his four-year extension.
"So first time that I've gotten the stability I've been looking for and obviously a long-time goal of mine to be in Toronto. So to be able to throw that video together was me and my buddy and he did a great job with it. So my idea, but he created it."
