It's been a breakout season for Cowan. Considered a bit of a reach when the Toronto Maple Leafs selected Cowan with their first pick (28th overall) in the NHL Draft, Cowan had 34 goals and 62 assists for 96 points in 54 games. He won the Red Tilson Award as the OHL's most outstanding player after setting a Knights franchise record with a 36-game points streak.
If the Knights beat the Generals, Cowan would be on his way to his first Memorial Cup tournament. With each passing game, Cowan continues to prove the Leafs correct for picking him when they did in the Draft.
