If the series goes seven games, fans of the Maple Leafs and Bruins will again need to wait an extra hour for puck drop on Saturday night.
Game 7, if needed, between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins will be another later game.
The NHL announced on Wednesday that if the series goes to seven games, Game 7 will be played at 8 p.m. ET inside Boston's TD Garden.
"The start time of the potential Game 7, if necessary, of the First Round Series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins has been set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 4, in Boston," per NHL PR. "The game would be televised on ABC and ESPN+ in the U.S. In Canada, the game would be on Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports."
That's now four games in the series that will start after 7 p.m. ET. Each of the other three playoff series in the Eastern Conference have been completed, which appears to be the reason for the late start times for Toronto and Boston.
The Maple Leafs defeated the Bruins 2-1 in overtime in Game 5 on Tuesday, forcing both teams to Toronto for Game 6, which is also an 8 p.m. ET start. This game will be one to watch, though, as the Maple Leafs are yet to win a home game in this series, plus, they're once again facing elimination.
Boston currently leads the series 3-2 and can move on to the second round with a win on Thursday night.
