The Maple Leafs went 0-for-5 in a Game 3 Loss to the Bruins and have one power-play goal in the entire series.

The Toronto Maple Leafs had a decent enough 5-on-5 game against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday but were unable to generate enough offense from their top weapons again.

The Leafs fell 4-2 to the Bruins on Wednesday are now down 2-1 in their best-of-seven series with Boston. Toronto had five power-play chances and was unable to convert on any of them in their first game of the series at home.

"Power plays need to get you one (goal), get you two, three, if not four. and then it's a good night offensively in the playoffs against an elite defensive team like they are," Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said. " And with the type of the game that it is, it's a big part of it. Power play has got to find ways to get one.

The Leafs are 1-for-11 with the man advantage through three games of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Maple Leafs are loaded with offensive weapons but have had some issues. They have stressed that they have had some good looks. But at times they appeared to be a bit disorganized.

"We weren't able to really sustain in-zone possession," explained Maple Leafs forward Tyler Bertuzzi. "I missed a chance in front that should have went in. So we'll watch some video and try to get better."

Bertuzzi is referring to a chance while on the power play where he had several chances at a loose puck in front of the net but Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman got his pad to stop all of them.

"We're trying to focus on our structure. I think our entries have been good. We're trying to get pucks to the net, trying to create rebounds in traffic," Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly. "It's all about results, but there's stuff going on around there. That's good, and it's just a matter of getting that puck across the line."

The Maple Leafs have been without William Nylander for all three games in this series due to an unknown ailment and there's no doubt that the repeat 40-goal scorer would certainly help the club offensively.

The Leafs will have a couple of days to think it over. Five opportunities is a lot in one game and to miss on all of them was problematic for a part of their game that has been a strength over the years.

"We're talking about how to try to make it better, try to just relieve pressure a little better and support each other a little better," Mitch Marner said. "So that's what we'll do over these next few days, try to figure out how we can just be better and help our team win a little bit more."

Getting Nylander back for Game 4 would also help.
