The two teams will have a two-day gap in Toronto between Games 3 and 4, the only time it occurs in this series.
Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery shared his displeasure with their first-round schedule against the Maple Leafs ahead of Game 3 in Toronto on Wednesday.
The two teams squared off in Games 1 and 2, which spanned four days before travelling to Toronto, where Games 3 and 4 will be played throughout five days, with a two-day break in between.
The Bruins head coach didn't appear to enjoy spending the extra day in Toronto.
"I would have rather been [playing] here Thursday/Saturday if I'm being honest. I think we're spending more time in Toronto than Toronto's spending in Boston and we're the home team."
Following Game 4, both teams will have three days until Game 5, which will be played in Boston on April 30. Games 6, in Toronto, and 7, in Boston, if needed, will each be played on May 2 and 4 respectively. Times for those games are yet to be determined.
Boston opened the series with a 5-1 win against Toronto at TD Garden on Saturday night. The Maple Leafs captured a win in Game 2, defeating the Bruins 3-2 and returning home with the series tied at one.
There was a two-day break between Games 4 and 5 last year for the Maple Leafs in their first-round matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Toronto had another two-day layoff in the middle of Games 2 and 3 vs. the Florida Panthers.
Game 3 goes down on Wednesday night inside Scotiabank Arena, with puck drop scheduled for shortly after 7 p.m. ET.
