Childhood friends in real life, Copeland, a huge Maple Fans, put on a show at Coca-Cola Coliseum
Canadian wrestlers Adam Copeland and Christan Cage (real name Jay Reso) had a wrestling match for the ages on Wednesday. During the contest, which took place at Coca-Cola Coliseum, Copeland and Cage fought around the arena and made their way to the penalty box. That's when Copeland put on a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey while Cage put on a Boston Bruins jersey and the two engaged in a traditional hockey fight.
Copeland went on to win the 'I Quit' match, making Cage say the words "I quit" to win the AEW TNT championship.
Known as the 'Rated R Superstar', Copeland has had a long-standing connection to the Maple Leafs. He gifted Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly a custom-made Maple Leafs wrestling belt that the club continues to use as their 'Player of the Game' trophy handed out after every Leafs win.
Copeland regularly wears blue and white featuring Maple Leaf logos on his wrestling attire. He collaborated with the Maple Leafs for wrestling merchandise when he was with the WWE.
