The forward only played one period (4:10 of ice time) in Toronto's 5-4 loss to Detroit on Saturday night.
The Maple Leafs won't have Bobby McMann for the final two games of the regular season.
The 27-year-old played five shifts in the opening frame of the Maple Leafs' 5-4 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. He didn't return for the second or third periods with what the Maple Leafs called a lower-body injury.
It appears the forward got tangled up with Detroit's Alex DeBrincat during his final shift of the game.
McMann was absent from Toronto's practice on Monday morning with Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe confirming that the forward would miss the final two regular season games against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday.
"He's not gonna play in either of these last two games here and then we'll just see how he is," Keefe said following Toronto's practice on Monday. "We've got a week here before we get going so we'll see where he's at as that approaches."
McMann — as of late — has turned into an important player for the Maple Leafs. He's become a mainstay within Toronto's top six, playing on a second line with Mitch Marner and John Tavares.
The trio has a 75.00 GF% and a 52.08 xGF% at five-on-five in 39:28 of ice time, according to NaturalStatTrick.
"I just think within the league and how he's been impacting the game for us and the role he's been playing, it's hopefully something that's not too long," said John Tavares on Monday.
"I mean, everyone plays a role, no matter big or small, but certainly his game has come on and his role has gotten larger and larger. And we'll miss him if he misses any time."
Max Domi also missed practice on Monday with an injury. Keefe added that the forward likely won't play in the final two games of the regular season. He also opted not to reveal what Domi's injury is.
"I mean, we're not gonna give you much this time of year, obviously. But we'll see where Max and Bobby both are later in the week."
McMann has had a career year, scoring 15 goals and nine assists for 24 points in 56 games this season with the Maple Leafs. He signed a two-year, $2,7 million extension with Toronto on Mar. 13.
