Minten played four regular season games with the Maple Leafs and didn't register a point.

The Maple Leafs are sending Fraser Minten back to the WHL.

Toronto announced a number of moves on Friday before their practice in Nashville. One was Minten going back to his junior team, the Kamloops Blazers. The other was recalling William Lagesson from the Toronto Marlies.

These moves come following Jake McCabe's injury on Thursday night against the Dallas Stars. The 30-year-old took only one shift (which lasted 10 seconds) on the night before leaving the Maple Leafs' bench during the first TV timeout.

The defenseman pulled something and Toronto head coach Sheldon Keefe said after the game that there is "concern" about the severity of McCabe's injury.

"We won't know the extent of it until we get more information and get a picture (scan of the injury)," Keefe continued.

With the Maple Leafs being so tight to the salary cap, a move like this (sending Minten to Kamloops and calling up Lagesson) was needed for Toronto to remain under the ceiling.

Toronto practices in Nashville on Friday afternoon before their game on Saturday night. Stay tuned for more updates on McCabe's status.
