After two seasons with the Maple Leafs, the 26-year-old netminder leaves Toronto to play for the New Jersey Devils.
Erik Kallgren has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the New Jersey Devils with an AAV of $775,000 at the NHL level and $330,000 at the AHL level.
Kallgren signed a two-year, two-way contract with Toronto back in 2021 after winning the Swedish Hockey League championship with the Växjö Lakers.
During his time with the Maple Leafs, the 26-year-old played in both the NHL and AHL, even getting into a Stanley Cup playoff game for Toronto.
Kallgren ends his tenure in the organization with an 11-6-5 regular season record and a .892 save percentage at the NHL level, and a 25-18-3 regular season record with a .896 save percentage in the AHL.
With the number of goalies already in the Devils' organization, Kallgren could find himself down in the AHL, playing for the Utica Comets next season.
