After the Utah Mammoth announced that they were officially changing their team name, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Utah's owner Ryan Smith held a press conference.
During that press conference, Bettman revealed some information regarding the possibility of the Mammoth getting an outdoor game in the future. Here is what he had to say:
"We've already done the site visit," Bettman said. "I believe we can pull together everything that needs to be pulled together, and just up the road a little bit, there's a nice stadium. We have to schedule these things a little bit in advance. But it is on our radar."
Obviously, at this time, there is no opponent or any other details. However, if there was a team that would fit in an outdoor game against the Mammoth, it would be the Nashville Predators.
It would build off the report from yesterday, when I suggested that the games between these two organizations should be called the “Ice Age Rivalry,” based on the movie Ice Age.

Remember the movie Ice Age?
When the NHL announced the outdoor games in Florida, it was around December. If the league has the details in place, and Utah is the next team to get an outdoor game in 2026-27, it should be announced closer to the end of 2025.
