Breaking News: The Utah Mammoth's general manager Bill Armstrong has announced today that their first round pick Caleb Desnoyers underwent wrist surgery and is expected to miss 12 weeks.

Desnoyers, was the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and was expected to have a huge year with the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Unfortunately, now he will miss the start of the 2025-26 season, but will return somewhere around the middle November.

Last season with the Wildcats, he had 35 goals and 49 assists for 84 points in 56 games. In the playoffs, he had nine goals and 21 assists for 30 points in 19 games. That set a career-high in goals, assists and points in both the regular season and playoffs.

Desnoyers is known for his playmaking ability, as well as his offensive awareness. He is going to be a great NHL player for the Mammoth down the road. However, for now, he needs to work on recovering from his wrist surgery and getting back to the level he was at last season.
