We’re just a week into training camp and the Utah Mammoth are already dealing with a wave of injuries. It isn’t uncommon, especially with how physical this preseason has been so far. That should die down as we move into the second week and get closer to the regular season.

For now, though, the Mammoth will have to adjust and manage their roster as camp rolls on.

Mammoth Injury Report

At the moment, the Mammoth have six players from their camp dealing with injuries. Technically, the number is eight, but their 2025 first-round pick Caleb Desnoyers had wrist surgery in the offseason and is already out long-term. Here’s where things stand with the other seven:

  • Liam O’Brien is dealing with a lower-body injury.
  • Juuso Valimaki tore his ACL and will miss 8–9 months.
  • Barrett Hayton is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.
  • Jack McBain is also day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.
  • Logan Cooley is day-to-day after taking a hard hit in preseason game #2.
  • Alex Kerfoot is sidelined with a lower-body injury and is week-to-week.

Some NHL injury reports have listed goaltender Connor Ingram as out, but he isn’t injured. He’s not taking part in camp as the Mammoth work to find him a new home.

It’s not ideal to be dealing with this many injuries so early in preseason. Still, it does create openings for players like Tij Iginla and Cole Beaudoin, who now have an even stronger chance to crack the opening night roster.
