Utah Mammoth have announced that they have signed forward Brandon Tanev to a three-year $7.5 million deal. The contract carries an average annual value of $2.5 million per season.

Tanev, 33, spent the year split between the Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets. In 79 games, he had 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points. He also brought his usual energy and edge, finishing the season with 189 hits and 45 blocked shots.

There were some people that felt he would follow his brother Chris Tanev to the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, he has decided to join the Mammoth and help them make a run at the playoffs for the first time in their history.

In his career, he has played in 552 games and scored 84 goals and 96 assists for 180 points. He is not going to be a point producer, but he will get under the opponents’ skin with his hard forecheck and tenacity. That paired with Liam O'Brien will make a very hard-working fourth line that will quickly become a fan favourite line.

The Mammoth fan base will now get to see his famous eye-popping team photos that he has become very well known for. Fans are going to love the personality and chaos he brings.
