The Abbotsford Canucks had an odd month of February. While they did finish with five wins in 11 games, they could only win two in regulation, with both coming against the San Jose Barracuda. Here is a look at four players that stood out and helped the Canucks stay in the race for home-ice advantage in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.

    Sheldon Dries

After missing over a month and a half with an injury, Sheldon Dries returned in a big way. In seven games, he finished with four goals and three primary assists while averaging 3.57 shots per game. Approaching career point 100 with Abbotsford, his return to the lineup could not have come at a better time.

    Aatu Räty

Aatu Räty had arguably his best month in a Canucks jersey in February. In 11 games, he had ten points and found the scoresheet in all five of Abbotsford's wins. He continues to improve his game as the season progresses and could be the next in line for a call-up to Vancouver.

    Linus Karlsson

February was a good month for Linus Karlsson. In 11 games, he had 12 points while also receiving another call-up to the Canucks earlier in the month. With points in six of his last seven games, he is heating up at the right time and showing he is a difference-maker on a night-to-night basis.

    Nikita Tolopilo

In net, Nikita Tolopilo showed why Vancouver went out of their way to sign him as a free agent last March. He went 4-2 in six starts, allowing 15 goals and posting a .920 save percentage. Now with 13 wins on the season, he ranks in the top eight in save percentage, goals-against average, and wins among qualified rookie goaltenders in the AHL.
