For the first time in franchise history, the Abbotsford Canucks are Calder Cup Champions. Abbotsford captured the historic trophy thanks to a 3-2 Game 6 victory over the Charlotte Checkers. While there were many impressive performances, here is a look at three standouts from Game 6.
Artūrs Šilovs wrapped up the 2025 Calder Cup Finals with a 28 save performance in Game 6. Thanks to his performance not just in the final, but the entire post-season, he was named Calder Cup Playoffs MVP. Overall, it was a spring to remember for Šilovs, who added yet another award to his impressive resume.
In the end, Šilovs put together one of the most impressive performances by a goaltender in Calder Cup Playoffs history. He picked up 16 wins, while recording five shutouts and a save percentage of .931. Ultimately, Šilovs' performance has forced the Vancouver Canucks into a difficult decision this off-season, as it looks like he is ready to make the jump to the NHL next season.
Max Sasson was all over the ice in Game 6. He led Abbotsford with five shots and won key faceoffs throughout the game. While he didn't record a point, Sasson's strong play was one of the many reasons why the Canucks picked up a victory on Monday night.

After a strong regular season, Sasson stepped up in a big way during the post-season. He recorded 14 points in 24 games while firing 77 shots on goal. A leader on and off the ice, Sasson will have a good shot at making the Canucks main roster in 2025-26.
Arshdeep Bains wrapped up the post-season with yet another impressive performance. He recorded two assists, including the primary on the game-winning goal. Bains also led the playoffs with 17 assists, while his 24 points ranked second behind Linus Karlsson.
Few skaters had a better final than Bains. He recorded points in five of six games and finished the playoffs with back-to-back multi-point nights. A fan favourite in Abbotsford, Bains stepped up and helped guide the Canucks to their first championship in franchise history.
