The Vancouver Canucks (37-16-6) couldn't break their losing streak, falling 5-2 to the Seattle Kraken (24-21-11) on Thursday night. Vancouver has now lost four straight for the first time all season, with all four coming in regulation. With the loss, the Canucks also lose the season series to the Kraken for the first time, only winning one of the three matchups this year.

In the end, mistakes cost Vancouver against Seattle. Whether it was passes up the middle of the ice or players failing to clear the zone, the mistakes piled up, resulting in the Canucks fourth straight loss. On top of their errors, the power play couldn't generate anything once again, which has become a trending concern over the past few weeks. At this point, the entire lineup needs a reset and will need to do it quickly, as they have a massive game on Saturday against the Boston Bruins.

Quotes:

Rick Tocchet on his team's performance:

"Not much compete from the guys. That's on me. I need to take the blame for that. I didn't get the guys to compete hard enough, so I will take the heat on this one. It was a lot of no-shows tonight"

Rick Tocchet on the team's compete level:

"I thought the first ten, I thought we were fine, and then all of a sudden, it was a comedy of errors where guys were missing pucks and things like that. We don't get the clear on the PK, and it just starts to unravel. We had some guys try, but some guys had a tough time tonight."

"Our clears were awful tonight. We had three times to get the puck down, and we didn't get it down. Like I said, four-game losing streak, and everyone keeps saying it's a good thing, adversity, but we need to start to pick it up here. And we have to understand that when the puck comes on our rim, we have a technique to do it, and you have to have the b-a-l-l-s to get the puck out. You can't just go in soft, and you can't ice pucks on a rim. There is a reason we practice and talk about technique and things like that. So when the pressure hits, those are when the reps come into play. It shouldn't be foreign to you when pressure hits. Some things in our staples are foreign to us now. Chipping the body, maybe talking a little bit. Hey, heads up, time, puck, nobody wants to make a call. So right now, we are in that rut, and I gotta find answers to this team."
