Both Canucks prospects were ranked in the top ten on Button's list.

Vancouver Canucks prospects Tom Willander and Jonathan Lekkerimäki have been named to TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button's top 50 NHL-affiliated prospects list. Willander comes in at nine, while Lekkerimäki was ranked tenth in the latest edition. Both also received an "A," the second-highest rating on Button's scale.
Willander is thriving in his first year at Boston University. The Canucks 2023 first-rounder has 16 points in 28 games and is coming off an impressive World Juniors, where he helped Sweden take home a Silver Medal. A mobile right-shot defender who is strong at both ends of the ice, he is projected to be a big part of Vancouver's lineup once he turns pro.
As for Lekkerimäki, he is showing why the Canucks jumped on the opportunity to draft him 15th overall in 2022. Playing for Örebro HK of the SHL, he leads the team with 15 goals and sits second in points with 24 through 38 games. It shouldn't be long before fans in Vancouver get to see the 2024 World Juniors MVP as, according to general manager Patrik Allvin, the plan is to get him into some games with the Abbotsford Canucks once his SHL season comes to a close.
