The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Nashville Predators in 6 games during the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This year's first-round matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators is starting to look familiar. The two teams last met in the second round of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs, where Vancouver defeated Nashville in six games. Thirteen years later, the Canucks have a chance to repeat history and once again send the fans at Bridgestone Arena disappointed.
While the scores haven't been the same, this year's series has followed the same path as it did in 2011. Just like 13 years ago, Vancouver won Game 1 at home before losing Game 2 and followed it up with back-to-back wins in Game 3 and 4. Game 5 even followed a similar script as the Predators pulled off the victory in a one-goal game at Rogers Arena. At this point, the only real difference is that the Canucks didn't have to use multiple goaltenders during the 2011 series, as Roberto Luongo was able to stay healthy and started all six games.

With Game 6 on the horizon, fans in Vancouver will be hoping the Canucks can finish the storyline and repeat history. While they may want a more comfortable scoreline than the 2-1 victory from 2011, fans and the organization will take whatever they can get, as long as it results in a win. The hope is this team can rise to the occasion and punch their ticket to the second round for an all-Canadian matchup against the Edmonton Oilers.
