For the second straight game, Vancouver Canucks prospect Basile Sansonnens and the Rimouski Océanic fell at the 2025 Memorial Cup. While Rimouski battled the London Knights hard all game, the OHL champions scored twice in the final three minutes as they picked up a 3-1 victory. As for Sansonnens, he was partnered with 18-year-old Anthony Paré for this game but failed to register a shot on goal.

London's victory was historic, as Dale Hunter set a new Memorial Cup record with his 15th win. The record dates back to 1972, when the CHL changed its format for the tournament. Hunter has spent over 20 years behind the Knights' bench and has led London to two Memorial Cup victories.
Sunday's loss means that the Océanic must win their game on Wednesday against the Moncton Wildcats to stay alive in the tournament. Moncton also lost its first game of the Memorial Cup and will face the Medicine Hat Tigers on Monday. Puck drop for Wednesday's all-QMJHL matchup is scheduled for 4:00 pm PT and will be broadcast on TSN.
